IHEP

What We Do

As a nonpartisan global research and policy center, IHEP serves as a resource for government agencies, higher education organizations, philanthropic foundations, and others committed to increasing access and success in postsecondary education. It offers policy recommendations and unique research to address complex issues facing higher education and to help people reach their full potential by participating and succeeding in postsecondary education.

In addition to providing acclaimed research, IHEP manages several initiatives that directly impact students around the world. These unique programs broaden the global scope and reach of the organization by strengthening its mission and vision.

IHEP offers a nonpartisan perspective with an informal approach through research and evaluation and programs.

Research and Evaluation

In order to help achieve its mission and vision, one of the primary purposes of IHEP is to conduct research and analysis geared toward both a policymaking and general audience. The organization produces a number of professional reports and briefing papers every year that explore a variety of higher education issues.

IHEP also conducts evaluations on programs related to access and success in higher education, including early intervention, college access, and scholarship programs. It conducts both formative evaluations aimed at assisting programs in assessing and improving their services, and summative evaluations designed to reach conclusions about a program’s ultimate effectiveness. Programs

Through programmatic activities, IHEP works with colleges and universities to help build both individual and institutional capacity to address disparities in higher education. The organization may also participate in collaborative initiatives that directly or indirectly impact historically underrepresented students.
