One of the primary purposes of IHEP is to conduct research and analysis geared toward both a policymaking and general audience. Every year, IHEP produces a number of professional reports and papers that explore a variety of higher education related topics such as changing systems of finance, the evolving role of information technology, the needs of the emerging majority, accountability and quality assurance, and the global context.

“The Measuring Global Performance Initiative” program will focus on two key areas of inquiry: (1) the complex but coordinated revolution in higher education that has been unfolding in Europe over the past decade, the details and challenges of which are largely unknown to U.S. policymakers, and (2) the nature of comparative educational attainment data for adult populations that are commonly cited by U.S. policymakers to steer both public opinion and the U.S. regulatory environment.
