Lisa M. Stewart is the chief financial and administrative officer at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). In this role, she oversees the accounting, financial management and planning, treasury, external audits, grants management, information technology, human resources, and other business support functions. As a first-generation student, her commitment to IHEP’s mission manifests in her dedication to high-standards and quality work.
Prior to joining IHEP, Stewart held accounting and finance positions in several for-profit organizations including: NextiraOne and Mercedes-Benz. Stewart brings more than 15 years of accounting and financial experience to her role at IHEP. She is a member of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs and a member of the Finance and Administration Roundtable of Washington DC.
In 2010, Stewart was honored as Greater Washington’s Nonprofit CFO of the Year- Rising Star for her major leadership role in supporting the executive director, with significant initiatives in the development of the nonprofit, a noteworthy accomplishment for a CFAO under 40.
In addition to her accounting prowess, Stewart stays involved in her community by regularly volunteering, specifically with The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Washington National Opera. Stewart holds her B.A. and M.B.A from the University of Phoenix.
