Young Men of Color: Charting a Way for Educational Success

In 2012, the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) and the College Board Advocacy & Policy Center collaborated to discuss the organizations’ latest research and translate it into practical solutions and programs to improve the educational outcomes of young men of color. Convening a distinguished group of policymakers, practitioners and education leaders from across the nation, the event:

  • Elevated research on status of men of color along the K12-higher education continuum, with special focus on completion and alignment
  • Celebrated programs, policies and strategies designed to support men of color on the path to and through college
  • Provided actionable strategies as evidence of what works to inform policy and practice
  • Engaged new stakeholders within this conversation
