The National Articulation and Transfer Network (NATN)—a national research and policy development resource for students, counselors, administrators, researchers, and policymakers—offers an up-to-date repository of state articulation policies and other key information on transfer issues. NATN member organizations are a growing coalition of community colleges and baccalaureate-granting institutions that work together to place students on pathways to opportunities that lead to advancement and success in higher education.
As a major initiative of the Alliance for Equity in Higher Education and IHEP, NATN places a strong emphasis on promoting transfer access and success for students of color. NATN’s strategic relationship with minority-serving institutions (MSIs) provide access to schools that, by either mission or mandate, provide institutional climates reflecting the cultures of students of color they enroll. The NATN network includes strong connections with more than 350 MSIs—Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Tribal Colleges and Universities.
The mission of NATN is to enhance access and success in higher education by increasing the number of transfer students, particularly historically underserved student populations such as students of color, who graduate with baccalaureate degrees. NATN is accomplishing this goal through three core areas of focus: research, policy, and practice.
