IHEP

Programs

IHEP manages a variety of innovative programs to inform key decision makers who shape legislation and support economic and social development.

Unique Partnerships

The programmatic activities of IHEP involve a commitment and contribution from key partners such as the Alliance for Equity in Higher Education, a groundbreaking coalition that represents the shared interests of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and Tribal Colleges and Universities.

Through its strategic relationship with the Alliance, IHEP has been able to implement several programs such as the Building Engagement and Attainment for Minority Students (BEAMS) project and the National Articulation and Transfer Network (NATN).

Community Outreach

Although IHEP is committed to creating change in postsecondary education, it realizes that early awareness and preparedness are necessary in order to help people reach their full potential. In early 2006, IHEP became the parent organization of the Washington, D.C.-based Partners4Education to target local students and families from historically underrepresented communities.

Global Impact

Since its inception, IHEP’s work has extended to the global context of higher education for effective policymaking. The organization’s global portfolio concentrates on furthering educational opportunities for all, with a particular focus on nations in transition. An example of IHEP’s commitment to foster change through international collaborations is its Global Policy Fellows Program and Global Center on Private Financing of Higher Education.
