IHEP President Wins EXCEL Award for Nonprofit Leadership

Washington, D.C., Nov. 18, 2014—The Institute for Higher Education Policy is proud to announce that Dr. Michelle Asha Cooper has been awarded the 2014 Gelman, Rosenberg and Freedman EXCEL Award from the Center for Nonprofit Advancement.

This competitive award recognizes outstanding leadership among Washington-area nonprofit chief executives. Dr. Cooper was selected for her leadership in the areas of innovation, motivation, community building, inclusiveness/diversity, and ethical integrity.  The award was presented today, November 18, at the Center for Nonprofit Advancement's 35th Annual Celebration in Washington, D.C.

As a recipient of this year's award, Dr. Cooper will receive funds to support professional development for herself and the IHEP staff.
