IHEP Urges Education Department to Make Diversity and Equity, Data and Evidence, Postsecondary Access and Success Official Priorities for Grant Programs

IHEP sent a letter today to U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos regarding the agency's recently proposed list of supplemental priorities for competitive grant programs. It's common for a new administration to update these priorities—they provide incentives for grant programs the agency administers and can shape our education system. But the current proposal steers the Department's focus away from issues that are critical to IHEP's mission. Our letter asks that the Department prioritize three things: data and evidence, postsecondary access and success, and diversity and equity. Read the full letter here.
