The Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) submitted comments responding to a letter from Senators Jones, Warren, Cortez Masto, and Harris on racial disparities in student debt and persistent inequities in our higher education system.

The recommendations urge lawmakers to support students and borrowers of color by investing in need-based aid, increasing transparency about college costs and outcomes, fostering increased degree completion among students of color, and approaching policymaking with an equity-oriented focus.
