Gabrielle Smith Finnie is a Research Intern at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). In this role, she supports IHEP’s institutional research. Prior to joining IHEP, Gabrielle served as a Summer Doctoral Fellow at MDRC. In addition to her professional roles, Gabrielle is a Higher Education Ph.D. candidate at Old Dominion University. She also holds a M.S. from Florida International University and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Delaware.

Gabrielle is a proud Black woman with a desire to make radical change in higher education. She is passionate about working at IHEP to continue to reimagine higher education and advocate for equity and access to ensure success for all students.

Outside of her scholastic and professional pursuits, Gabrielle is an avid vinyl collector and is always looking for the best albums to add to her collection.
