John Luke Piepgras was a former Communications Intern at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). In this role, he supported IHEP’s traditional and social media presence. Before joining IHEP, he led grassroots initiatives at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with Swipe Out Hunger. He previously interned with the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law, where he tracked media coverage of LGBTQ communities.

John Luke holds a BA in Political Science, with a minor in Professional Writing, from UCLA. He was recently welcomed to the UCLA Eudaimonia Society for his efforts to build productive connections between students and administrators.

John Luke is excited to make higher education more accessible and equitable—wherever that takes him. Outside of work, he enjoys creative writing, hiking, and giving tarot card readings.
