Tola Fadeyi, MS, CPA, CGMA
Chief Financial OfficerTola A. Fadeyi is the Chief Financial Officer at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). In this role, she oversees the financial operations of the organization, including cash and grant management, financial analysis, period-end closings, audit preparation, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. Tola brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a clean audit track record in the non-profit space. Before joining IHEP, Tola spent 15 years at the helm of the Finance Department of a $32 million nonprofit in Bethesda, Maryland, first as Accounting Manager and then as Controller, being the first person to hold that position in the agency. In this role, she was responsible for positioning the Finance Department to handle the growth of the organization from a $5 million to a $32 million operating budget. Before that Tola was a software engineer at Verizon and a Senior Information Technology Auditor in the Internal Audit Department at First Virginia Banks, Inc. in Falls Church, Virginia, and National Cooperative Bank in Washington DC. She trained as an accountant with KPMG in Nigeria.
Tola graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and a master’s degree in Accounting and Information Technology from the University of Maryland, University College. Tola is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Maryland Association CPAs (MACPA), and Greater Washington Association of CPAs (GWSCPA). She is also a proud member of the nation’s oldest, prestigious, and invitation-only Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Tola is committed to volunteerism and plays an active role in the Not-for-Profit Committees of the Maryland Association of CPAs and Greater Washington Association of CPAs. She has also volunteered as Treasurer for her local PTA and PTSA.
