Vallery Valle

Research Intern

Vallery Valle is a research intern at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). In this role, Vallery supports qualitative research projects on college admissions and attainment. Prior to joining IHEP, Vallery was a graduate assistant for the University of Texas at Austin’s graduate school where she researched barriers that affect first-generation graduate students. She also interned with the UT Austin’s Hispanic Serving Institute Presidential Advisory Committee to support Latinx student success.

Vallery has experience in legislative affairs as a legislative aide in the Texas Senate and as an intern for U.S. Congresswoman Veronica Escobar. She also completed a fellowship with the UT Austin Office of Admissions where she aided the Office of Access and Inclusion.

Vallery graduated from UT Austin with a B.S. in Corporate Communications and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership and Policy at the same institution. She is also a proud member of the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education.

Vallery is passionate about bridging research to policy. She envisions paving pathways to higher education for students from historically marginalized backgrounds by breaking barriers that have made postsecondary education inaccessible for generations of students.

In her free time, Vallery loves strength training at Lift ATX and is working on her Pilates instructor certification. She enjoys exploring the city of Austin with friends.
