Policy Advocacy
Higher education has the power to change lives–and that change should be for the better. We know that each and every person – regardless of their background, race, or circumstance – can benefit from higher education and, in turn, that education benefits families, communities, and our nation as a whole.
It is not acceptable that some students – especially students of color, students from low-income backgrounds, and women – face systemic barriers as they work to get to and through college. Costs continue to grow, completion rates remain low, and wage inequities persist that prevent many of today’s students from realizing the full value of postsecondary education.
To realize our vision of a more just and equitable world through higher education, we advocate for evidence-based, data-informed policy solutions at the federal, state, regional, and institutional levels in our five key areas:
