IHEP Comments on U.S. Department of Education Regulatory Review

IHEP submitted comments to inform the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) efforts to implement Executive Order 13777, calling for a review of current federal regulations. The comments call for the protection of federal regulations that promote equity and transparency, and urge the maintenance of regulations that support civil rights and the administration of critical student aid programs. IHEP also encourages ED to work with Congress to overturn laws that bar incarcerated students from receiving Pell Grants and certain students convicted of drug offenses from receiving federal aid.
